Hello, my name is Emily Magnuson. I am a senior Biological Science student at the main UAF campus. I am currently in Norway working on wildlife fieldwork with beaver, muskox, and moose until September 19th (hence my delayed post!). In addition to attending school I work for the US Fish and Wildlife Service as a Environmental Contaminants Technician. I will be working on a senior thesis project this winter at UAF LARS looking at physiological responses of muskox under anesthesia.
I am taking this course because I do a lot of scientific writing for my work, school courses, and outside projects. I am also approaching graduation from UAF and will be writing lots of applications to graduate schools and jobs, starting this winter. In this course I would like to learn methods to improve my formal writing both for the scientific writing I do currently and for the professional applications I will be working on soon.
